Working Group of Ewing Sarcoma of HeSPHO
The Working Group was created in June 2021, following the German Working Group’s invitation (GPOH) for our country to participate in the International Protocol iEuroEwing.
Our official participation in this protocol is in progress. This protocol will be the first to enter all data on the European CTIS (Clinical Trials Information System) platform.
All members of our group also collaborate in several national and international Scientific Conferences.
There is also collaboration with the Osteosarcoma and Soft Tissue Sarcoma National Groups, the Adult Sarcoma Group (EOSSO), the Radiotherapists as well as the Orthopaedic Surgeons.
In the context of the new protocol, randomization of radiation therapy doses will be questioned.
Close collaboration is also taken place with the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit for administration or not of megatherapy and stem cell transplantation to patients both at initial diagnosis and at relapse.
Invitations to Ewing Sarcoma Scientific Events are sent to Group members regularly. Our Working Group follows SIOPE International Treatment Guidelines.
We focus on getting membership in the International Group of Euro Ewing Consortium (EEC) and fulfill membership requirements.
We also focus on close collaborating with the Essen Working Group in Germany, the responsible group for the protocol we are participating in.
We discuss on the prospective of biological samples’ storage (biobanking) for diagnostic and research reasons as well as for treatment response (liquid biopsies).
Participation in Clinical Trials and innovative treatment within the protocol in the initial diagnosis as well as in relapses cases throughout international collaborations.
The aim and the purpose of our Working Group is, through the collaboration of all national departments, the most effective treatment of Ewing sarcoma ensuring this way the best possible prognosis for our patients with localized, metastatic or recurrent Ewing Sarcoma. Our aim is also the assurance of the same diagnostic, therapeutic and research possibilities as in all large International Centers and International Working Groups.
